BRAC University has celebrated its decade-long friendship with the US Embassy in a ceremony titled “Celebrating Fulbright & Entrepreneurship Collaboration” on 25 May 2022 at the university auditorium in Dhaka.
BRACU is delighted to have US Embassy Dhaka once again as a good old trustworthy partner to work on different entrepreneurial development related programs.
The goal of this ceremony was to recognize and strengthen the partnership between the two organizations on knowledge sharing and capacity building activities.
His Excellency US Ambassador Mr Peter Haas; Chairperson of BRACU Board of Trustee Ms. Tamara Hasan Abed, BRACU Vice Chancellor Professor Vincent Chang, Fulbright Specialist Dr Sharon Hart, BRACU CSE Professor and CED’s Senior Technology Adviser Professor Matin Saad Abdullah, BBS Dean Professor Shang Lee, were the honorable speakers in the event.
At present, in collaboration with the US Embassy, Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) of BRACU is engaged in a Professional Fellows Exchange Program, and a pilot project on women entrepreneurship development.
CED has been conducting the Professional Fellows Exchange Program with Oklahoma University and US State Dept. since 2012. As a continuation, the newly adopted program is to be organized in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
Along with this, as a part of Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE), CED is going to train 50 women (aged 20- 35 years old) from different backgrounds who are aspiring entrepreneurs and planning to launch their own businesses with prior experience in the field.
