Nerdiz.com-Promoting Experiential Learning through Virtual Reality
Imagine how it would feel to travel around the world and learn about those places by remaining at the same place. Sounds quite exciting, right? As years are passing by, the invention of latest technologies seems to make our lives much easier and more thrilling. NERDIZ.com is our country’s first operation which has taken this concept to a whole new level. NERDIZ.com is the first ever VIRTUAL REALITY EDUCATION PLATFORM in Bangladesh which explores numerous applications of virtual reality in the educational field.
In 2017, the initiators shared the idea with the friends, family and known ones; they failed to see the idea convert into reality, leading to zero participation in developing a solution. But after getting a prototype, it is observed a drastic change in people’s reactions. They started to show interest and active participation which inspire the initiators to come forward. Gradually, the company flourished following their first soft launch in August 2017 which resulted in an excellent response. Hereafter, NERDIZ visited schools and universities like Chittagong Grammar School -Dhaka and BRAC University to showcase their contents to the students and faculty members with VR headsets in the hope of providing better experiential learning for everyone.
In 2018, the team participated in the Business Plan Competition (Round- 4) organized by Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) of Brac University and has been selected by the jury panel to enroll in the Business Incubation Centre (BIC) as incubatees. Later, Nerdiz.com has also won the place of top 13 at Grameenphone Accelerator and Banglalink IT Incubator 2.0.
NERDIZ.com has already started its endeavor through few projects. NERDIZ.com is currently working with Teach for Bangladesh, Youth Voice and IHF (Its Humanity Foundation) to extend their services to a wider group of students. Nerdiz.com is also catering educational contents to 4000 Sheikh Russel Digital Labs (SRDL) located all over Bangladesh.
