As per its mandate of kindling the spirit of entrepreneurship, Center for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) of BRAC University (BRACU) has been inspiring the graduate/undergraduate students and alumni in their entrepreneurial journey through the Business incubation Center (BIC) of the university.

Recently, CED has announced its 5th Round of Business Plan Competition in which around 33 groups, consisting of 94 members shown their interest to participate in the competition. With the view to make this competition more fruitful, CED has planned this 360-degree entrepreneurship development program – TRIUMPH.

The main objective of this program is to provide the support, frameworks and networks to enable potential participants to design, launch and manage new startups in the present competitive context.

This year, along with the regular Business Plan Competition, CED focuses on a comprehensive entrepreneurship training program under TRIUMPH for the aspiring student entrepreneurs of the university. The training program will help the students get ready for the Business Plan Competition and enroll in the BIC for receiving incubation support up to their graduation. The training program follows MIT’s disciplined entrepreneurship training modules making it contemporary for the students.

The training program has been divided into eight-sessions. Every week, a half-day workshop session is scheduled where the participants will complete real-life business activities with the support of CED experts in accordance to best industry practices. The first session of the training was held on 30 July 2019. Around 80 students from 33 registered groups were present in session.

Ms. Afshana Choudhury (Deputy Director, CED), Mr. Shamim Ehsanul Haque (Assistant Professor, BBS and Senior Research Fellow, CED), and Ms Sabrina Nourin (Research Assistant, CED) conducted the session as facilitators. The training program is being coordinated by Mr Md Mofazzol Karim (Assistant Program Manager, CED).

At present, the Business Incubation Centre (BIC) of BRACU, established and managed by CED, has eleven (11) startup groups enrolled for working on their startups receiving incubation support and services.
