Shamdanee Tabriz, an alumnus of BRAC University and the founder and the Managing Director of Rapido Deliveries Limited; one of the thriving startups of BRAC University’s Business Incubation Centre, attended the Professional Fellowship Program in the United States on 30 September 2022.
Participating in the event is a part of BRAC University’s regular activities on the professional fellow exchange program funded by the US State Department.
The program is being organized by Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) of BRAC University and Gaylord College of the University of Oklahoma since 2011.
Rapido offers customized services that allow businesses to connect their platforms to Rapido Deliveries via API (Application Programming Interface) connections.
Tabriz began with his venture on a very small scale, and now he employs over 200 people working for him throughout Bangladesh. He has been working in the e-commerce and f-commerce industries for the past six years.
Tabriz received an interest-free seed loan from CED to get his business off to a good start.
Furthermore, he is an incubatee at the Business Incubation Centre of BRACU established and being managed by CED, where he gets incubation support and networking opportunities, and more essential services.
According to Tabriz, CED’s help to flourish student-led entrepreneurs like himself has been tremendous support provided by comprehending the needs of the startups, as Rapido was assisted by CED in terms of its scalability and feasibility analyses.
Tabriz believes that the US visit will enrich his business skills as well as provide a global networking opportunity to scale up Rapido rapidly.
