CED-BRACU Hosts University Innovation Hub (UIH)’s Cohort Commencement Ceremony: A New Era of Innovation and Entrepreneurship
BRAC University (BRACU) celebrated a significant milestone in its commitment to fostering hashtag innovation and hashtag entrepreneurship among its student body with the Cohort Commencement Ceremony of the University Innovation Hub (UIHP) Program, held on 3 March 2024 at hashtag BRACU, hashtag Dhaka.
The event marked the beginning of a new cohort of UIH, a pioneering initiative designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge to thrive in the competitive landscape of hashtag digitalentrepreneurship and innovation.
The GoB is going to establish vibrant hashtag InnovationHubs across 10 esteemed universities; therefore, under the hashtag UIH program, an Innovation Hub will also be established at BRACU.
Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA) is funding this initiative to accelerate the hashtag innovationculture in hashtag Bangladesh and to have properly trained hashtag entrepreneurs and hashtag innovators at the university level. This is the first equipped state-of-the-art, structured hub to create successful entrepreneurs in the IT/ITES sector.
Dr Dave Dowland (Registrar, BRACU) extended a warm welcome to the attendees, highlighting the university’s dedication to creating a supportive hashtag entrepreneurialecosystem for budding entrepreneurs.
Dr Ananya Raihan (Innovation and Startup Specialist, UIH) provided an in-depth overview of the program’s objectives. He emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world application, ensuring that BRACU graduates are well-equipped to meet the challenges and opportunities of the digital age.
The ceremony was graced by esteemed guests of honor: Mr Tamzid Bin Ahamed from ICT Division introduced the attendees to the EDGE project, underscoring the opportunities it presents for aspiring entrepreneurs. Mr A N M Safiqul Islam from BHTPA delivered a motivational speech, encouraging the students to embrace their responsibilities and contribute positively to the innovation ecosystem.
Ms Afshana Choudhury [Joint Director, Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED), BRACU], delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to all the esteemed speakers and participants.
Adding to the richness of the event, Mr Shubho Al-Farooque, Founder & CEO of Zantrik, conducted a 2-hour session on “Introduction to Innovation,” further enriching the participants’ understanding and enthusiasm for their hashtag entrepreneurialjourney.
The Cohort Commencement Ceremony not only celebrated the beginning of a promising journey for the new cohort of UIH but also reaffirmed BRACU’s position as a leader in innovation and hashtag entrepreneurshipeducation in Bangladesh.
