Our project, titled “Addressing Climate Change and Plastic Waste in Bangladesh’s Garment Industry from a Global Value Chain Perspective,” officially kicked off on 14 May 2024. 🚀
In collaboration with the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) and Aalborg University, this groundbreaking initiative aims to shed light on how local actors can contribute to sustainable transformations without losing sight of the global firms’ role. 🤝
The project’s exploratory nature, combined with the practical application of theoretical constructs, will provide invaluable insights into the framework’s adequacy, comprehensiveness, and potential limitations. 📚💡
Being the in-country partner of the project, the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) is delighted to organize the project kick-off at BRAC University premises. 🏢🎉
This event was graced by esteemed individuals, including Project Coordinator Professor Dr Jan Vang and Co-Coordinator Professor Dr Dewan Ahsan from the University of Southern Denmark, as well as the project’s Local Coordinator Professor Dr Matin Abdullah (Professor of CSE, BRAC University, and Technology Adviser, CED), and Ms Afshana Choudhury (Joint Director, CED). 👥
This groundbreaking project is funded by the Danida Fellowship Centre (hashtag DFC) of hashtag DANIDA and supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Innovation Fund (hashtag Denmark). 🌐
We are also thrilled to have the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of the University of Dhaka with CED for this important endeavor. On behalf of IBA, Professor Dr. Melita Mehjabeen was also present at the event.
Together, we aim to facilitate a more holistic understanding of the complex interplay between sustainability, value chains, and environmental challenges. 🤝🌿
Let’s work towards a more sustainable future for hashtag Bangladesh and beyond! 🌏🌱
