The Mapped in Bangladesh (MiB) team, along with researchers from the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) of BRAC University, proudly participated in the 2nd edition of the prestigious Bangladesh Circular Economy Summit 2024!

🌱 Since its first edition, the hashtagsummit has proven to be a highly productive platform for all apparel stakeholders, providing significant opportunities for businesses, policymakers, and society to drive forward hashtagsustainablepractices.
🎤 At the event, one of our researchers, Ms Rumi Akter, participated as a panelist in Panel 1. The discussion was highly engaging, focusing on “Formalizing the Informal Jhoot Sector” with the aim of creating a sustainable waste management model.
♻️ Alongside other industry experts, Ms Akter shared valuable hashtaginsights and experiences on integrating informal waste collectors into the formal economy. Key points included ensuring fair wages, better working conditions, and improved hashtagenvironmentalpractices. She also emphasized the importance of addressing diverse aspects of hashtagrecycling, such as incorporating renewable energies into this sector.
