HEQEP Funded Business Incubation Centre

CED worked on a project undertaken by the Ministry of Education, Government of Bangladesh, titled “Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project” (HEQEP) under the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) and funded by the World Bank. The duration of the sub-project was from January 2015 to June 2016.

The funds of the project were utilized for:

a) Entrepreneur Incubation, and
b) Entrepreneurial Education Programs.

The project enabled CED to significantly expand its operations and venture into areas such as social entrepreneurship and the paradigm of micro-entrepreneurs.

With support from this sub-project, CED established the first-ever academia/university-based Business Incubation Centre (BIC) in Bangladesh and has been managing it since.

Initially targeting BRAC University’s students and alumni to provide them with essential business incubation support and inspire them to become successful entrepreneurs, the BIC has supported over 2,200 individuals in realizing their dreams.
