(HEQEP)Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project Funded Business Incubation Centre
CED worked on a project undertaken by the Ministry of Education, Government of Bangladesh titled “Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project” (HEQEP) under the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) and funded by the World Bank. The fund for the sub-project was 70.96 Lac BDT, and the duration was from January 2015 to June 2016. The fund of the project would be utilized for: a) Entrepreneur Incubation and b) Entrepreneurial Education Programs. The project allowed CED to expand its operations significantly and branch out to areas like social entrepreneurship and the paradigm of micro-entrepreneurs. With support from this sub-project, CED established and has been managing an academia/university-based Business Incubation Centre (BIC), starting with BRAC University’s graduate students to provide them with essential business incubation support as well as inspiring them to become successful entrepreneurs.
