The rapid survey titled “The Impact of Covid-19 on the Lives of Workers in the Bangladesh Garment Industry” was conducted in collaboration with the BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health (JPGSPH) at BRAC University and the Institute for South Asia Studies at the University of California, Berkeley. The objective of the survey was to assess the knowledge, attitude, and practices regarding Coronavirus among RMG workers in Bangladesh, and to understand how the pandemic has affected their lives.
A total of 1,057 garment workers were contacted via phone between 30 June and 13 July 2020. The survey captured workers’ perceptions of the risks posed by COVID-19, as well as the precautionary measures taken by factories to prevent the spread of the virus among workers.
